Consultant, please conduct seated interview. Period of intended Employment: 3/1/2024-10/16/2024. Location:Selah , Washington. Applicant \"MUST HAVE\" 3 months of experience.Job Duties Crops/Commodities: hops.Mechanic & Fabricator Helper: Work directly under the mechanic or fabricator to assist them with the maintenance of all farm equipment and vehicles. May be required to move or hold parts for the mechanic. May be responsible for oiling, cleaning belts, washing, general cleaning, and painting. Must be able to work independently on jobs that are assigned from the mechanic or fabricator. Irrigation: Work with management to understand the correct irrigation schedule to effectively irrigate each field. Some varieties have specific water needs and irrigator must know what variety is in each field and the proper settings. Must understand the pump system and how to operate each pump station. Must be able to perform chemigation when needed. Must take Pesticide Handlers course and be certified to handle and apply chemicals through the irrigation system. Must be able to repair and all damaged irrigation systems. Must be able to properly place and pick up drip tubes at the start and end of season. Baling: Responsible for the last step in the harvest cycle. Must be able to operate machinery that produces the bale of hops. Must be able to hand sew the tops of all bales before staging the bale. Must maintain mandatory paperwork to record variety, field number, kiln number and bale weight. Tractor & Farm Vehicle Work: Must be able to drive and operate tractors and small farm utility vehicles to perform tasks in the field and around the farm, during the growing season and harvest season. Perform tasks for ground preparation, hauling, mowing, plowing, etc. Must be able to operate equipment with or without direction and in a safe manner. Misc Farm Tasks: Must be able to perform daily tasks around the farm to keep operations running smoothly and safely. May be required to bend, stoop, kneel for long periods of time. May be required to use tools such as hoes, shovels, knives, saws, power tools. May be required to lift, carry, load or unload products for the farm. May be required to clean and help maintain farm buildings, structures, equipment and work areas. Assist with the maintenance and repairs of fields and/or farm buildings. Work is done in the field for long periods of time. Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. Workers must work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. Work required in fields when plants are wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Temperatures in fields during working hours can range from 40 to over 105 degrees F. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker\'s ability to perform the job. Workers should be able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations. Supervisor(s) will provide instructions and directions to workers. Workers must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively to supervisors. Unusual, complex or non routine activities will be supervised. Workers expected to perform basic duties in a timely and proficient manner without close supervision. Workers must obey all safety rules and basic instructions and be able to recognize, understand and comply with safety, pesticide warning/re-entry and other essential postings. Workers must operate equipment, with or without direction, in a m nner that protects operator, visitors, other workers, products, trees, crops and equipment. Failure to comply with safety requirements and operating instructions may result in termination. Non-employees access to work sites or adjacent areas strictly prohibited. Non-working minors may not be present, adjacent to worksites, or left in vehicles during the day. Use, possession, transfer, offer, sale or manufacture of marijuana and/or controlled substances strictly prohibited. All work sites are alcohol and drug free work places. Employees must not report for work, enter the employers\' property or perform service while under the influence of or having used alcohol, marijuana, illegal controlled substances, or any other substance that may in any way adversely affect their alertness, coordination, reaction or safety. Persons seeking employment in this position must be available for the entire period requested by the employer. Applicants must be able to furnish verbal or written statement establishing relevant prior work experience. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker\'s Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors.
