\ JOB SUMMARY\ Manages Health, Safety, Transportation, and Nutrition Services for Friends of Children and Families, Inc. (FOCAF) Head Start and Early Head Start.\ \ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\ Assists with hiring and making hiring recommendations.\ Provides training and technical assistance to staff ,Policy Council, and Board of Directors.\ Develops policies, reports, and procedures that are necessary to implement the Head Start Performance Standards. Assures that policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and needed revisions are made.\ Evaluates Health, Nutrition and Safety data and prepares reports for FOCAF Executive Director, Deputy Director, FOCAF Board and/or Policy Council.\ Directly supervises Health and Safety Coordinator and Transportation Coordinator.\ Ensures there is an effective, comprehensive system that, through collaboration with families, staff, and other health professionals, identifies and monitors all childrens health concerns and links each family to an ongoing source of medical care.\ Provides support with the procurement process.\ Reviews, evaluates, and interprets health records to assess needs for children enrollment in programing; creates individual health plans, trains and provides support to staff to meet these needs.\ Ensures that safe and effective transportation services are provided to families.\ Ensures that food service program meets CACFP regulations and complies with state and federal regulations.\ Monitors and observes staff/centers/classrooms/home visits in the implementation of health education, nutrition education, safety and emergency management.\ Ensures there is an effective, comprehensive system for preventing illness or injury and promoting positive, culturally relevant health behaviors in children, parents, and staff.\ Establish and maintain community partnerships to expand access to health and dental care services to children and their families.\ Provides CPR and First Aid training to staff.\ Oversees the organization and monitoring of the health screenings of children in the FOCAF program and ensures appropriate follow up is completed.\ Coordinates, facilitates and plans the Health Advisory Services Committee.\ Collaborates effectively with the other managers to ensure integrated program operations; implement program goals and work with the team to jointly address and resolve problems.\ Represents the organization on one community group related to their program area with monthly or quarterly attendance based on community group need.\ Keeps immediate supervisor, and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress.\ Prioritizes and adjusts to the changing demands of the position.\ Handles and adapts to stressful situations.\ Ensures that health inventory is completed, and health needs are prioritized and promotes efficient use of budget.\ Demonstrates commitment for professional dev lopment and continuous growth by actively seeking out and participating in training opportunities.\ Engages with supervisor and co-workers on constructive and timely feedback, accepting feedback as a growth opportunity, and is open to continuous improvement for oneself and the organization.\ \ Equal Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action Employer
