RF Design Engineer
Novel Engineering is seeking an RF Design Engineer for an Engineering and Manufacturing Company who provide the momentum and the expertise to accelerate product development. Located in Melbourne Florida,
Our client combines Product Development Engineering, Rapid Prototyping and New Product Introduction (NPI) Manufacturing expertise all under one roof. Design and Manufacturing experts focus their skillsets to develop custom mechanical, electrical, and software components that seamlessly integrate into an elegant solution. The core focus can be broken up into the following three major Product Development areas: Product Development Engineering, Professional Services, and NPI Manufacturing.
Candidates MUST be a citizen of the United States.
Candidates MUST be located within commuting distance of Melbourne, FL.
The RF Design Engineer is responsible for developing and analyzing requirements to include planning and deploying RF communication systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
RF circuit design
Test automation and hands-on experience on RF test equipment including Watt Meter, Spectrum Analyzers, Field Strength Analyzers, and Signal Generators
RF System validation and debugging
Provide feedback into system design
Plan and analyze RF link budgets, RF modeling software, and RF simulation software
Measure and analyze the performance of RF hardware including software defined radios, antennas, RF modules from HF to Microwave
Develop and test various wireless technologies including RFID, 802.11, Bluetooth, and cellular
REQUIREMENTS:
Senior Level Experience 15+ years or more
HF (303-30 MHz) and L-Band (1-2 GHz) design experience
Near Vertical Incidence Skywave (NVIS) experience a plus
Software Defined Radio experience desired w/ challenging Size Weight and Power constraints
Schematic Capture with Altium Toolset a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline, plus five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
