Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to identify cost out, resiliency, opportunities for electronics category, Lead Execution of these projects in collaboration with global team. Drive end to end solution for cost out projects will be the key focus area.

• Engineering data Improvement for Electronics category (all category components, PCB and Box build components).

• Work with cross functional global/local teams on designing, developing and testing analog, digital, and power circuits including micro-processors/controllers, DSP’s, gate drivers, sensor interfaces, and SMPS & drive project complying with Eaton VAVE product cost out and Pro-Launch process.

• Coordinates multi-disciplined engineering projects from design to implementation and serves as an expert resource for other engineers, identify opportunities in projects & mentor engineers for technically challenged project, disclosures/patent applications, technical paper publication & presentations in external bodies.

• Implement Design for Manufacturability thought process in compliance with UL & IEC standards.

• Creating cost out (VA) project and execution strategies in Electronic Manufacturing and assembly."

• Analyze spend data finding out gap for cost out in embedded electronic hardware projects.

• Builds Strategy to drive enterprise-wide strategic projects for category working along with Global Procurement Leaders, Engineering counterparts and Supply Chain team.

• Engineering data Improvement for Electronics category (components, PCB and Box build components).

• Drive productivity by supplier consolidations, key data improvements & avoiding part proliferation.

• Demonstrates the application of basic Engineering tools/ principles and evidence of creative thinking through component selection, preliminary validation through soft simulations.

• Confers with manufacturing, Product teams, suppliers to resolve Design for Manufacturing, Design for Testing, Design for Assembly issues.

• Builds strong relationships with Stakeholder for easy execution of strategies.

• Identifies opportunities for continuous improvements in resolving the supplier queries and immediate solutions and contribute on process improvements with cost out benefit.

• Prepares Electronic Components and PCB specifications sheet.

• Suppliers' engagement to generate new ideas and solution to gain cost out.

• Experience in Collaboration with mechanical, layout, and electronic team to generate various cost out idea, Simulate or Engineering analysis on generated cost out ideas prepare and execute cost out plan for product.

• Sound knowledge on product testing & validation.

• Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across different business groups to drive cost out ideas.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics / Electronics and Communication / Electrical Engineering.

• Total relevant work experience: 10+ years.

• Significant hands-on experience with analog, digital, and power circuits development and testing.

• Hands-on experience with power converter development and testing and with control strategies of electric drives for traction.

• Should have hands on experience and strong knowledge of EMI / EMC standards and environmental compliances – IEC / SAE/ ISO / RoHS / REACH etc.

• Experience on Electronics Components, PCB, PCBA and component supplier qualifications for technical aspects.

• Preparation of technical compliance agreements with supplier for PCB and PCBA’s.

• Sound knowledge of the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Reflow, wave and hand soldering methodologies.

• Basic knowledge of IPC7351, IPC6011/12, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610.

• Knowledge on Electronic manufacturing assembly line

• Sound knowledge on spend data analysis and strategizing cost out project.

• Experience working with Electronics Contract Manufacturers.

• Sound knowledge on electronic component fabrication technology and their performance curve.

• Should have strong knowledge of DFSS tools & preferably Green Belt Certified.

• Should have ability to mentor people on complex technical issues.

• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge in Finding out gaps for electronic cost out (VAVE) - PCB, PCBA, Component, Creating cost out proposals.

• Product Testing. Setup Creations.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical solutions as a part of virtual and global teams.

• Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

• Ability to understand academic research and apply new data science techniques.
