Requisition Summary PACCAR's Zero Emissions department is focused on new technologies in the fields of battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell electric, hybrids, and advanced vehicle concepts that eliminate harmful emissions in the heavy and medium duty transportation industries. This engineering supervisor position will lead a focused team on next generation electric vehicle power electronics. Examples of ownership in this role includes guidance and leadership in the development of high voltage power distribution, fusing, contactors, power conversion, and charging systems. The supervisor will provide technical expertise and leadership to deliver high quality solutions through systems engineering and a focus on integration, achieving industry leading performance, reliability, and cost appropriate results. Job Functions / Responsibilities Lead a team of engineers to launch the future of commercial electric vehicle power electronics. Build relationships and a network to effectively gather requirements, develop concepts, define specifications, and execute new designs through a phase-gate product creation process. Champion innovation by collaborating with global engineering organization to optimize designs, heighten integration, streamline controls and diagnostics of charging systems. Evaluate global supply base and lead strategic supplier partnerships to implement production solutions. Collaborate with cross-divisional team members to develop a roadmap and business case for advanced electric vehicle technologies. Provide written and verbal updates to communicate status, changes, risks/gaps to program timelines and identify opportunities for improvement. Coach and mentor staff to build environment of trust, respect, and accountability that delivers exceptional results. Less than 25% travel Qualifications & Skills Demonstrated technical knowledge of power electronics and their use in passenger car or commercial vehicles required. Experience with higher power systems, including megawatt level components or systems preferred. Experience developing electro-mechanical components or systems with support of controls development teams in battery electric vehicles is preferred. Experience with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) preferred Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team to achieve timely objectives Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to grow personally and professionally, ready to learn and make use of new processes and techniques. Be resourceful with problem solving approach. Willingness to be outgoing, engaging, with a demonstrated passion to deliver top quality results. Education BS Degree in engineering or related technical field required and 7+ years of experience. MS Degree and 4+ years of experience preferred. PACCAR Benefits
