Summary of Role:As a member of the Fab8 Reliability Engineering Team in Malta, NY, you will work on the reliability assessments/characterizations on the volume production process, including process changes, material and or process qualification, also the reliability assessment on the process excursions. You will be working closely with process engineering teams/integration teams/yield engineering teams to analyze and assess the reliability risks of the line excursion, abnormal process and extract timely and precise conclusions. You will also be responsible for designing, characterization and implementation of the reliability test sites/macros in the production to monitor the line stability. You will be responsible to conduct/coordinate and interpret the failure analysis tasks on the critical issues and make the reliability projections or estimations based on the degradation models. In this role you will work closely with interdisciplinary local and global reliability teams to provide on-time, comprehensive reliability assessments for the issues of volume production.Essential Responsibilities:

  • Priority for this role is to define plans for the reliability characterization and assessment for the issues of volume production, drive the execution of the required reliability tests from fast inline WLR tests to the necessary long time stress tests done in the reliability lab. Evaluate and report the results then provide timely conclusions, decisions, and wafer disposition recommendations.

  • Planning of the required reliability testing and deciding the stress conditions based on qualification results.

  • Coordination with both the inline WLR test team and the reliability lab test team, conducting essential reliability tests such as HCI/BTI/TDDB/EM/SM etc. Make sure seamless execution of all tests and conform to the timeline requirement.

  • Arranging and evaluating the analysis of physical faults, including EFA and PFA of specific cases. Coordinating product level stress (HTOL/HVS etc.) when necessary.

  • Supporting our customers with the interpretation of the reliability assessment results.

  • Working in a global reliability team to support cross-Fab reliability assessments.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education – an M.S. degree or above with focus on semiconductor technologies, electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related fields is required.

  • Experience - Minimum 5 years in semiconductor technology or related field.

  • Good knowledge of MOSFET reliability failure mechanisms, including HCI/BTI/TDDB/EM/SM etc.

  • Good knowledge of the reliability testing systems, including both wafer-level tests and package-level tests.

  • Good knowledge of using layout designing environments/software, could conduct test macro layout review, debugging and verification.

  • Good knowledge of TCAD simulation of device model and reliability degradation model prediction.

  • Good knowledge and experience in methods of physical error analysis.

  • Experience and application of statistical methods and statistical analysis software.

  • Experience working in cross-functional and international teams.

  • Good IT skills with Office software, including Word/Excel/PowerPoint- etc. and being able to do technical reporting.

  • Very good presentation skills.

  • Fluency in English language – written & verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education - an M.S. or Ph.D. degree with a focus on semiconductor technologies, electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related fields is required.

  • Experience - Minimum 5 years, preferred 8+ years in semiconductor technology or related field.

  • Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

Expected Salary Range

$91,600.00 - $198,000.00
