Microsoft Corporation UX Designer 2 in Multiple Locations, India

As part of Commerce + Ecosystem (C+E) within Cloud + Artificial Intelligence (C+AI), we are focused on enabling and optimizing the end-to-end customer journey for all Microsoft products, services, and channels. Our team is the C+E Studio – we are User Experience professionals (UXers) at our core, care deeply about our customers and each other, and love connecting the dots that cut across business siloes, tools and processes so we can build better experiences.  

We are looking for a talented designer to join our team in reimagining and crafting great commerce and ecosystem experiences. We seek a creative mindset who has a passion for creating cohesive design elements, fostering collaboration with fellow designers to champion consistency across the entire C+E products and help us advance C+E design system.

Responsibilities

  • Evangelize and advocate proper use of the design system across teams to enable consistent experiences, reuse and efficient design & development.

  • Lead efforts to understand, explore,and evolve design system based on user feedback.

  • Act as a bridge between product designers and design system team by gathering, documenting, and informing the design system. Communicate and articulate design system updates and decisions across teams.

  • Work collaboratively on a larger design team made up of interaction designers, visual designers, motion designers, researchers, PMsand front-end developers focused on aligned goals.

  • Understand complex problems, prioritize needs and design with high-quality and thoroughness. Havepassion to raise product craft bar by driving best practices.

  • Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) that define a successful design system.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years (post education) of relevant design experience with proven success in working with partners and customers.

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in product design, HCI, interaction design, industrial design, communication design, architecture, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience creating, maintaining and evolving a library of reusable UI components, patterns and guidelines.

  • Presentation of a strong design portfolio (depth and breadth of interaction and visual).

  • Ability to quickly produce elegant and easily understood diagrams, wireframes, concept maps, prototypes, interaction guidelines and other related artifacts for a strong interaction point-of-view.

  • Good fundamental design skills (typography, iconography, composition, color, layout, etc.) and creation of a variety of visual mood boards, storyboards, creative briefs, and motion and visual guidelines.

  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other relevant design tools.

  • Demonstrable ability to work with program management, engineering, and research.

  • Great written and verbal communication/presentation skills.

  • Motion and technical prototyping skills are highly desired.

A portfolio demonstrating breadth and creativity and proven experience in telling stories, building UI models, generating detailed wire frames, developing prototypes, and delivering comprehensive specifications.
