Job Description Summary

The Stock Assistant Manager sets the tone for Sonesta's mission of "Wowing" our guests with Amazing Moments. They are responsible for stocking, maintaining, and replenishing minibars in guest rooms, overseeing stock control, coordinating deliveries, and managing minibar operations. In this role, the Stock Assistant Manager ensures that every guest enjoys a seamless and enjoyable stay. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and going above and beyond for our guests.

Job Description

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include but not limited to:

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate stock levels for all guest room amenities, housekeeping supplies, and minibar items.
  • Develop and implement efficient stock control procedures to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Prepare purchase orders and coordinate deliveries with vendors.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for all food and beverage items.
  • Research and source high-quality food and beverage products from approved vendors.
  • Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favorable pricing and terms.
  • Place purchase orders and manage vendor relationships.
  • Monitor deliveries and ensure accurate receipt of goods against invoices.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce food and beverage costs without compromising quality.
  • Track and analyze purchasing trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures for procurement.


Minibar Operations:
  • Oversee the restocking and maintenance of minibar inventory.
  • Manage pricing and ensure accurate billing for minibar items.
  • Analyze minibar sales data to identify trends and optimize product selection.
  • Train housekeeping staff on proper minibar procedures.


Leadership and Support:
  • Assist the Director of Housekeeping with day-to-day operations.
  • Lead and motivate housekeeping staff to ensure exceptional guest service.
  • Assist housekeeping managers as necessary, including opening and closing shifts.
  • Address guest concerns and complaints related to housekeeping and minibar services.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety and sanitation regulations.


Qualifications and Skills
  • Professional verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including dealing with difficult guests.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Other hotel systems preferred.
  • Must be able work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays.
  • Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights). long hours sometimes required.


Education and Experience
  • Previous experience in the hotel industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with Point-of-Sale systems, inventory management software, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 30lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and guests.
  • Compliance with all State, Federal, and corporate requirements pertaining to food safety.

Hourly Compensation Rate is $25.00

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, and job specific/overall experience.
