Job Description

EBAD seeks a proven leader for the position of Product Engineering Lead, Electronics. This position is located in Simsbury, CT and will report to the Assembly Manufacturing Manager.

Responsibilities:

The Product Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading a team of Product Manufacturing Engineers supporting the Electronics Value Stream. The Product Engineering Lead has the following main areas of responsibility:

• Ensure production readiness for work to be completed, both at EBAD and our suppliers.

• Measure critical KPIs to understand functional team performance, and countermeasure with cross-functional action plans when we are off-track.

• Partner with the Production Supervisor, Planner, and Master Scheduler to assign and prioritize work – including project work, continuous improvement/kaizen, and other non-customer-funded work.

• Manage and grow your team’s talent and capabilities to align with current and future company needs.

• Develop additional assembly capabilities for a new facility, including welding, leak testing, and product assembly cells.

• Drive and support execution of your direct team’s projects in all areas, ensuring:

• Mentorship of your direct team through their project execution to work through challenges together and foster on the job training.

• On-time completion of the milestones within the responsibility of your team.

• Facilitating hardware planning, including demand creation for development and production products, aligning with production schedules to meet customer need dates.

• Robust process development is in place to properly transition from development to production.

• Lean manufacturing principals are embedded into our processes and cells.

• Early insertion of design for manufacturability guidance on development programs.

• Facilitate a successful team-based organization by driving a solution-oriented culture with a sense of urgency and accountability to commitments.

  Requirements:

• BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience leading engineering teams in electronics manufacturing or similar work required, 10 or more years’ experience preferred.

• Fundamental knowledge of problem solving, with experience walking leadership teams through data, trends, and pareto analyses, and driving tactical & systemic countermeasures when off-track.

• Knowledge of EBAD development and manufacturing processes is preferred.

• Background in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement preferred.

• Must have or be able to obtain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance and be capable of working on U.S. DoD and ITAR restricted products.
