Role Summary

The Marketing Operations & Strategy Manager, reporting to the Director of Revenue Marketing Ops and Strategy and dotted line to the Americas Marketing Ops/Strategy Team Lead, will partner with sales and marketing leadership to refine the marketing strategy and execution across all channels. The main objective is to drive reconciliation between expectation, perception, and fact for our marketing and sales activities, ultimately contributing to better decisions and planning for Splunk. This person is empowered to identify key initiatives that: enable collaboration across Sales and Marketing, drive pipeline performance through rigorous operational cadences, and ensure marketing budgets are being fully optimized

What you'll get to do

  • Partner with the Americas and Public Sector theater Marketing teams to help define the Marketing strategy based on data-driven analysis. Key contributor to the marketing leadership team in the Americas and Public Sector, in collaboration with the Marketing Ops/Strategy Team Lead.

  • Provide day to day support on budget allocation and performance to ensure we are using every dollar of Marketing spend to the fullest. Review marketing mix/channel performance with local teams to optimize trade-offs.

  • Support operational cadences and drive regular interlocks with Sales/Marketing to monitor performance against plan, identify key potential issues, track progress against key action items for the Americas and Public Sector field teams.

  • Drive consistent reporting on all our Marketing leading indicators to identify key trends and provide accurate forecasts so we can course correct if needed early in the quarter.

  • Establish a data-driven culture across Sales and Marketing to champion our pipeline contribution and drive positive ROI on our program investments.

  • Run post-mortem meetings on key Marketing programs to assess what is driving the best outcomes and how to replicate it across theaters.

  • Lead key initiatives across Marketing that will have a positive impact on growth, productivity, retention, and/or the Customer Experience.

  • Provide key ad hoc analysis (e.g. funnel optimization, ABM performance, propensity to buy models, etc.) to help management team refine/adjust the strategy as needed.

  • Establish your role as the key champion to drive business improvements to help Marketing team unlock their contribution to Sales.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Demand Generation experience with full immersion in all Marketing channels (both offline and digital) at a rapidly growing SaaS organization focused on a B2B audience

  • Confirmed experience of driving Sales/Marketing alignment and being accountable to a Marketing sourced pipeline target.

  • Experience with Marketing tech stack, performance marketing, and reporting/attribution tools

  • Proven track record of converting data-driven analytics to gain customer insights, set Marketing mix and drive targeted campaigns

  • Strong experience in collaborating effectively with key Sales/Marketing stakeholders and leading by influence.

  • Experience with running a quarterly budget to drive qualified leads and opportunities, while maintaining a low customer acquisition cost

  • Ability to drive and lead change management programs across functionally and geographically distributed strategic partner organizations.

  • Strong intellectual curiosity to develop and embrace new standard methodologies to build a continuous improvement culture.

  • Combines competitiveness with empathy, along with a high-level of personal and professional integrity.

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree is a plus.

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $132,000.00 - 181,500.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $118,800.00 - 163,350.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $105,600.00 - 145,200.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
