Roles & Responsibilities:
QuEST Global Services seeks candidates for the role of FQE:
Verifies routine product conformance to design requirements. Provides objective evidence of results. Performs auditing, surveillance, and monitoring. Identify/document discrepancies. Segregate/control non-conforming items. Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification.
Under limited supervision, inspects incoming parts/material, outgoing orders verify that certification is correct, checks parts for processing, check special orders, daily use of micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, indicators, etc.
Conducts dimensional inspections per design record and documented AQL levels; Conducts visual inspections for obvious defects.
Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and Company Quality standards; communicate with vendor as needed. Disposition and control of non-conforming product.
Identify/communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity and assist with RCCA activities pertaining to Inspection. Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits.
Perform LAIRs, FAIRs, Audit’s and Inspections to support build processes at several locations.
The SQE-FQE encompasses these primary elements:
Last Article Inspection Reports (LAIR)
Using the First Article Inspection process, Customer Aerospace Procedure AP-1003, as a guideline, create LAIR Packages on production parts in Supplier Inventory
Total Part Scope of 450 LAIR’s.
First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
Using the First Article Inspection process, Customer Aerospace Procedure AP-1003, review/disposition Supplier FAIR packaged in Net Inspect, compliant with AS-9102 industry standard requirements.
Activities include paperwork review, over-inspection, and working with suppliers to resolve non-compliance to requirements.
Self Release (SR) Audits
Using the Product Release process Customer Aerospace Procedure AP-1051, conduct Self Release Audits at assigned suppliers.
Activities to completion of SR Audits, paperwork review, and working with suppliers to resolve non-compliance to requirements.
Source Inspection
Source Inspection activities in accordance with Customer Aerospace Procedure AP-1051-2 at assigned suppliers.
Activities include completion of Source Inspection checklists, Supplier paperwork review, over-inspection and working with supplier to resolve non-compliance to requirements.
APQP
APQP activities in accordance with Customer Aerospace Procedure AP-1750 at assigned suppliers.
Activities include review of APQP packages, artifact checklist review and disposition of APQP artifacts and Part Submission Warrant support and working with suppliers to resolve non-compliance to requirements.
General Requirements:
Candidates should be ready to use technical data, physical review, experience, and quality skills to evaluate parts and processes to assure conformance to Industry Requirements and Quality Procedures.
Decipher and resolve quality issues - often drawing upon multiple sources to breakdown complex issues and shed light where needed.
While conducting work (solo/team), establish strong customer/supplier relationships.
History conducting material/part/process qualification reviews (PPAP, 1 st Piece, FAI)
Evaluate non-conforming parts/underperforming processes.
Experience analyzing/reporting technical data in clear meaningful manners.
Participating in Contentious Improvement/Development initiatives (RCCA, 6 Sigma, DoE)
Interact w/ Manufacturing / Suppliers / Buyers
Procedural/Technical writing and evaluation.
Manufacturing:
Read/interpret drawings information. General understanding of GD&T
Working in MRP/ERP systems
Familiar with modern high tech manufacturing processes (metals & composites)
Prior involvement creating/using: Process Flow/Control Plans, PFMEA, Work Instructions, Capability studies, Capacity evaluations, Production Readiness Reviews
Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and part handling/transfer
General Engineering:
Familiarity with design (preference on Aero-Engine components and assemblies)
Interacting / Presenting / Training: Suppliers, Buyers, Engineers, Management.
Comfortable interacting w/ multiple computer systems / software
Collaboratively engage daily with your Project / Team leader, Peers.
Required Skills (Technical Competency) / Attributes:
Relevant experience in: Quality Management System, Part Qualification (QA), Non-Conformance Management, and/or Continuous Improvement (Development).
Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook – intermediate / advanced user (macros, pivot tables, VB Coding – noteworthy)
Entering, probing, and extracting technical data within a MRP / ERP system (SAP preferred)
Self-motivated, disciplined, and organized - with ability to focus on semi-repetitive tasks.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Office and/or Shop Floor Environments
Lift / Transport 25 lb (occasional)
Common activities include sitting, walking, and standing
Typically includes substantial amounts of computer work – but can also include hands-on activities (e.g. lifting, inspecting, transporting, etc)
Heavily Regulated Industry with strict adherence to procedures and standard work
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late, arriving early, OT
Ability to use personal transportation (work, customer, other)
Typical 8-hour workdays M-F w/ unpaid lunch / accommodating shift schedule - but sensitive to customer needs.
